Q. What is a Krewe?

A Krewe (pronounced crew) is an organization that charge yearly dues to become a member and participate in their Mardi Gras festivities.

Q. What is the age limit to be a member?

A. Membership: minimum age is 18 years old (16 when accompanied by a legal guardian who is also a paid member )

Q. What comes with my membership?

A. Your membership comes with your ride in the parade, costume, entrance to the Morpheus Bash, post party, and special membership medallion. Food service at all meetings.

Q. How long should I plan my stay in New Orleans if I am from out of town?

A. Most of our out of state members arrive on a Thursday the day before parade day on Friday. This allows them time to participate pre parade festivities.

Q. Does the Krewe of Morpheus provide Hotels?

A. No, but we do our best to get the best deals for our members with local Hotels.

Q. What are “Throws”?

A. Throws are items such as beads, cups, doubloons, plush toys and trinkets.

Q. Does everyone have to wear a Mask and Costume the entire time?

A. Yes , Everyone must wear their Mask & Costume at all times or face fines and ejection from parade. As stated in the New Orleans Code of Ordinances Part II-code Chapter 34 – Carnival, Mardi Gras Sec.34-17.Riders (a)(b) .We follow strict guidelines and enforce all rules of those in violation .

Q. I have a group of people that want to ride, can we be placed together?

A. Yes, once everyone has submitted their application & payment, contact us with your request. We work very hard to honor all request.

Q. How long is the parade route and how long does it last?

A. The parade route is approximately 5 miles. We offer a full day of festivities kicking off with the Morpheus Bash at approx. 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Our parade start time is 6:45 P.M. You can expect to be on the route for at least 3 hours which is from the time you leave the staging area to disbanding area. (Time on the route can vary)

Q. Do you have Mardi Gras Ball?

A. The Mardi Ball and Pre-Party activities have been combined to form the "Morpheus Bash". Now all members can experience the essence of the Masquerade Ball with the camaraderie of the pre-party as part of their membership.

Q. Can I advertise on the floats or throw advertised items from the float?

A. NO, neither is allowed nor tolerated. As stated in the New Orleans Code of Ordinances Part II-code Chapter 34 – Carnival, Mardi Gras Sec. 34-7 Commercial Nature Prohibited (a)(b)(c)(d)(e) and Sec. 34-28 Prohibited Throws (a)(b)(c)(d)(e)(f).
